Dr Andre Schertel is the founder and lead clinician at Peninsula Snore Clinic. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, he has been practicing dentistry since 2001, bringing more than two decades of clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to patient care.
His journey into dental sleep medicine is deeply personal. After being diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea, Dr Andre experienced firsthand the challenges of CPAP therapy. Searching for an alternative, he discovered the effectiveness of Mandibular Advancement Splints — a treatment that not only transformed his own sleep but inspired a passion for helping others achieve the same life-changing results.
Since then, Dr Andre has undertaken extensive training in sleep apnoea management in Australia and abroad, successfully treating hundreds of patients with custom-fitted oral appliances. He has also been awarded the Fellowship of Dental Sleep Medicine by the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) — the peak body for sleep health in Australasia — recognising his advanced expertise and commitment to excellence in the field.
In addition to his dedication to sleep medicine, Dr Andre holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) from the University of Melbourne and has advanced training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, further broadening the scope of care he provides
